In examples of convergent evolution, it can be demonstrated that organisms of the two groups that converged occupy similar environments. Convergent evolution occurs when two species from unrelated lines develop the same traits or features. A good example of convergent evolution is the similarities between the hummingbird and the hummingbird moth.
