An arrhenius base is defined as a base substance that increases the concentration of OH- ions when added to water.

When adding arrhenius base to water, the solution will have:
the base, H+ ions and OH- ions

Therefore, as we can note, the only negative ion that would be available in the solution is the OH- ion
