This is the disengagement theory. Indicates that older people voluntarily withdraw from interaction with other people as they get older, this withdrawal is natural and accepted by people as a natural process. This theory was considered as universal, but this consideration obtained many criticisms because not all cultures have the same cultural process of aging.
