The tendency for prior learning to inhibit recall of later learning is called proactive interference.
There are two types of interference (intrusion, problems) when it comes to learning: proactive and retroactive. Retroactive interference means that the information you've just learned is making you forget the things you've learned before. On the other hand, proactive interference means that your previous learning is preventing you from learning something new.
