I would graph this to visualize it, and then do rise over run, or y/x to find the slope... Or you can use the formula y1-y2/x1-x2... where y1 is 8, y2 is 5, and the same with x... Hope this helps ;)

Given from the question
(x₁,y₁) = (3,8)
(x₂,y₂) = (-2,5)

To find the slope, use this formula
m = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁)

Input the numbers to the formula
m = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁)
m = (5 - 8) / (-2 - 3)
m = -3/-5
m = 3/5

The slope is 3/5
