well obviously plants need nitrogen to grow from soil or water wherever they live that is. and animals get the nitrogen by eating the plants so then obviously the animals die and their bodies decompose which bring the nitrogen into the soil, land, air etc, basically they just move slowly between living things then to dead and then to air, soil, or water
