1) For the first equation all we have to do is simplify |-7| to 7 and add 7 + 5 and we get our answer. So for 1. the answer would be 12.

2) For the second equation all we have to do is add -7 + 5 so it can be -2 and we simplify -2 and we get our answer. So for 2. the answer would be 2.
