6/12 + 1/3 Simplify completely, show all work.

If you multiply the numerator and the denominator of 1/3 by 4, you will get a common denominator. 

1/3 = 4/12

Then you can add:

6/12 +4/12 = 10/12

Just add the top 2 numbers and the bottom 2 stay the same. Then you can simplify. 2 goes into both 10 and 12, so divide them both by 2 and you get 5/6 as your answer.
