Ralph and Jack both insist on going after the beast because all of the children on the island are so scared of the beast that they aren't building huts or watching the signal fire as they are occupied with being afraid of the beast. so because of this Ralph and jack both unify to go out and find the beast so they can resume the order they intended to have on the island.
