Industrialization began in Europe in the 1700s and marks the start of the current damage seen today. Industrialization lead to the use of fossil fuels which is the culprit in modern day climate change. With industrialization came the need for land and this brought about deforestation. Also industrialization pumped gases into the atmosphere that contribute to acid rain. The more the process continued the greater the damage to the environment.
