remember, you can do anything to an equiton as long as you do it to both sides

-(7-4x)=9
we can either distribute to get -7+4x=9 or multiply both sides by -1 to get
7-4x=-9
then minus 7 both sides
-4x=-16
divide by -4 both sides
x=4
