What is the formula to calculate relative distance in algebra one

The distance formula is:

d = √[(x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2]

To use it, you need to have two points on a line that will look like this:
(x1, y1) and (x2 , y2)

Then you just plug it in, and you get your answer.
