A primary headache is a headache that is due to the headache condition itself and not due to another cause. A secondary headache is a headache that is caused by another condition such as a headache from sinusitis.

a primary headache is just because you get headaches there is no cause of to why you got that headache. A secondary headache is caused because of another condition such as a sinus headache.
