They are 20km apart. because in one hour one car would travel 60km and the other 40km and 60-40=20

legs are 60km and 40km

so
a²+b²=c²
60²+40²=c²
3600+1600=c²
5200=c²
sqrt both sides
20√13=c or aprox 72.11 km apart
