I don"t have the graphs. so how would this be graphed?

You would have to solve this like an equation, subtracting 4 from everything to leave you with -3<n<4 (I can't include the "equals to" but it should be there).  On a number line you would have a closed circle over -3, a closed circle over 4, and the solution set is everything in between.
