[tex]\frac{14}{(3y+5)}=\frac{3}{y}[/tex]

(3y + 5) is dividing on the left, then it will multiply on the right

y is dividing on the right, then it will multiply on the left

[tex]14y=3(3y+5)[/tex]

Distributing:

[tex]\begin{gathered} 14y=3(3y)+3(5) \\ 14y=9y+15 \end{gathered}[/tex]

9y is adding on the right, then it will subtract on the left

14y - 9y = 15

5y = 15

5 is multiplying on the left, then it will divide on the right

y = 15/5

y = 3
