Add 5 to 3
-16x+8+3/2x
Add 3/2x to -16x
-16x+3/2x+8
Convert -16x to a improper fraction
-16x/1+3/2x+8
Multiply until both fractions have the same common denominator
-32/2x+3/2x+8
Add the numerators but NOT the denominators
Final Answer: -29/2x+8 or -14 1/2x+8 *Both answers are equivalent to each other.
