Respiration is glucose (sugar) + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water + energy

Photosynthesis is carbon dioxide + water (+ light energy) → glucose + oxygen.

Respiration uses sugar (glucose) and photosynthesis doesn't.
Photosynthesis uses light energy and respiration just uses energy (that could be any energy).

Hope this help!!
