Mary Warren changed from Act 1 because she wasn't fragile anymore and she stood up for herself.

  • It should be noted that in Act 1, Mary was described as someone who was lonely, and naive. She was mocked and dominated by people like Mercy and Abigail.

  • In Act 2, this was different as she was bolder, and stood up for herself. She wasn't afraid of anyone anymore. The main reason for this was because she defended Elizabeth in court. This gave her confidence.
