Answer: x=3, y=4/3

Problem:
2x-3y=2
x=6y-5

The best method is substitution because you know what one of the variables equal. Therefore plug in for x.

2(6y-5)-3y=2
12y-10-3y=2
9y-10=2
9y= 12
y= 4/3

Now plug that in for y.

x= 6(4/3)-5
x= 8-5
x= 3

Now to check just plug them in and see if both equations make sense. Which in this case it does. So your answer is x=3, y=4/3
