First you need to distribute the negative into the ().
Then you will have 14=(-p+8) now you can drop the (), so it will be 14= -p+8.
Next subtract 8 from both sides, 6= -p.
Now you have to divide both sides by -1 to get rid of the negative value of p. -6=p.
Answer: -6= p
