Gradient = Slope = coefficient of x

Thus ;

Gradient = Slope = 5

Vertical axis = y -axis

To find the y-intercept of the equation we must put zero instead of x .

Let's do it.....

[tex]y = 5x + 30[/tex]

[tex]y = 5(0) + 30[/tex]

[tex]y = 30[/tex]

So the y-intercept is 30 .
