Step 1. Subtract [tex]2x[/tex] from both sides

[tex]-3y=9-2x[/tex]

Step 2. Divide both sides by [tex]-3[/tex]

[tex]y= \frac{9-2x}{-3} [/tex]

Step 3. Simplify [tex] \frac{9-2x}{-3} [/tex] to [tex]- \frac{9-2x}{3}[/tex]

[tex]y=- \frac{9-2x}{3}[/tex]
