Let the number of greens be: y.

Therefore; x/y = 5/16.

According to the question;

The ratio of reds to greens was 5 to 16

Six times the number of reds exceeded the number of greens by 112.

Therefore;

x/y = 5/16.............eqn(1)

6x - y = 112..........eqn(2)

From equation (1),

y = (16/5)x = 3.2x

Therefore;
