Hamilton was a strong supporter of federal government. he believed that government power should be ran by few men of talent and intelligence. Jefferson strongly disagreed, he wanted an decentralized agrarian republic. Jefferson knew the value of a strong central government in foreign relations but he did not want it strong in other respects. they both were strong in the south but Hamilton’s great aim was more organized and Jefferson feared tyranny and thought in terms of freedom.
