We have [tex]3x+8y=-14[/tex] substituting [tex]y=2[/tex] we get [tex]3x+8\cdot2=-14[/tex] then we solve for [tex]x[/tex] and find that [tex]x=-10[/tex].

So the solution is point where these two lines intersect, namely [tex]P(-10,2)[/tex].
