we have point (1,-1)

and point  (-3,5)

 slope =(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

   m = (5-(-1))/(-3-(1))

  m = 6/(-3-1)

   m = 6/-4

   m = -3/2

point slope form

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y-(-1) =-3/2(x-(1))

y+1=-3/2(x-1)
