Firstly, distribute c to (x - d):

[tex]ax-bx=cx-cd[/tex]

Next, subtract cx on both sides:

[tex]ax-bx-cx=-cd[/tex]

Next, factor out x on the left side:

[tex]x(a-b-c)=-cd[/tex]

Lastly, divide both sides by (a - b - c) and your answer will be:

[tex]x=-\frac{cd}{a-b-c}[/tex]
